About Us

Welcome! 2 Bucks Rodeo Company is one of the most exciting ranches in the West. Twin sisters Kyley Brown & Lindsy Houston are living out their shared dreams ~ owning and breeding competitive bucking bulls. Mike and Julie Brown moved to Powell Butte in 1987 from Lebanon, Oregon. They raise hay, cattle and horses. Mike also has a trucking company that is based out of the ranch. Their twin girls, Kyley Brown and Lindsy Houston were born June 1, 1989 in Bend Oregon. On that day life got a little more interesting around the Brown's ranch. Kyley and Lindsy attended Powell Butte Grade School. They grew up learning to work around the ranch. With support and encouragement of Mike and Julie they started taking 4-H livestock projects to the Crook County Fair. Later they joined the Crook County FFA Chapter. FFA district competitions also kept them busy. From judging livestock and soils, to tractor driving competitions the girls could hold their own. Both have been chapter winners for Agricultural Services, as well as many other accomplishments. In 2007 Lindsy won locally and went on to place third nationally in Indianapolis, Indiana with her bucking bull project. After winning many Grand and Reserve Grand Champion ribbons in market and showmanship for their 4-H and FFA careers, it seemed only natural to expand their interest in animals and competitions. In 2004 2 Bucks Rodeo Company was in full force. Their first purchase was two bulls from FLYING U RODEO, Red Water and The Rank Tank. Then two more from WILDCAT BUCKING BULLS based in Brush, Colorado. In 2005 their first calves were born and the 2 Bucks Rodeo breeding program had begun. The Paulina and Burns rodeos were their first two stops for their bucking bulls. They agreed that 4 bulls just weren’t enough so the headed back to Brush, Colorado. B BAR D RODEO COMPANY, OREGON RODEO COMPANY, HOWELL RODEO COMPANY, and others were starting to lease their bulls to put on NPRA (Northwest Professional Rodeo Association) rodeos, high school rodeos, and Indian rodeos. Kyley held a bull riding and barrel race at Prineville Indoor Arena that proved to be a success. By now the girls purchased more bulls and cows from many great blood lines. To help finance their bucking bull operation the twins recently purchased a portable rodeo arena. They contract out to many events from rodeos, bullrings to concerts and motorcycle events. They have took the arena to La Pine NPRA rodeo, 2009 NPRA Finals in Salem and many more. 2 Bucks Rodeo Co. is still throwing cowboys into the cheap seats. Kyley and Lindsy now have contracts throughout the Nortwest. The cowboys just don't see two pretty faces... they hear 2 Bucks Rodeo and they wonder if the trip was worth it. The twin sisters bought two bulls when they were sophmores at Crook County High School in Prineville, Oregon. Today, 2 Bucks Rodeo Co. has become a household name with more than 30 bucking bulls, and several cows and calves, a portable arena and a breeding program. The sisters have competed in a few bucking bull competition were they took 2nd in the yearling bull competion in Castle Rock, Colorado and in Prineville, Oregon taking 1st in the 3year old competition that is just to mention a few. This profession is not without risk. Lindsy took a hookin' from a bull named Captain hook. He stomped her to the ground, threw her against the fence, then over the fence suffering scrapes, bruises and a concussion. The girls aren't afraid to get in the pens and work the bulls and cows... "it's just part of the job" Lindsy says. Kyley's goal is to sell bulls and cows from their herd. Eventually, having the big time stock contractors coming to buy and have their brand become well known. Lindsy's goal is to raise them, but most of all, just go to rodeos and bullridings with the bulls and buy some more. Most of their stock was purchased from Nick Kallsen of Wildcat Bucking Bulls. They mostly credit Nick and his family for the great stock they have now. A few others they have purchased bulls or cows from include Jerry Nelson, Cross Lazy S , Cindy Rosser, Flying U Rodeo, Hd & Dillon Page, Mark Ward, Klay Lanam, and Colin McTagert. The most important thing of all they would like to thank "Our Mom and Dad (Mike and Julie Brown) and Lindsy's Husband (Mike Houston) for what they have done to help. If it wasn't for them we would not be here. Also a big thanks to Jason Mattox from the Challenge of Champions Tour, S&J Bucking Bulls and Gold Buckle Rodeo Company for taking us under your wings and helping us get one day further to fulfilling our dreams." This year our schedule book is feeling up fast as of right now we have 20 events two of them being the (PRS) Professional rough stock and which both will be televised. We will be continuing booking events not only for our bulls but also with our portable arena. Kyley and Lindsy's dream of raising a PBR caliber bull is more than just a dream. When the dust settles.... They will most likely have made it to the PBR with a bull they have raised. But at the end of everyday....

Trust in The Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understandings. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.
